We spend a lot of time in the workshop, but it is important to take breaks. Every weekend when we can, we celebrate with a special lunch. In our tradition The Sabbath is on Sunday (for Judaism see Shabbat). The Sabbath is described as the day of rest for the ether to cool and collect and figure. It is a lighter day with light activity and call upon emergency where you are asked to respect peace. We like to make a fish and chips recipe.
Special Recipe
We often make fish and chips (or fish sticks and fries). It is intended to be a low stress snack for our day that is economical and for the whole family.
Recipe
SWIA International Multicultural Fish Sabbath Recipe
Fish: Tilapia (preferred), Swai, or Another Economical Choice
Place parchment paper on the bottom of the pan with a little bit of oil or water to help it stick to the pan if necessary
Spices: You can cover the bottom and top of the fillets with milk and/or spices. This is intended to be multicultural and fun so do not worry too much about it. Spices of choice include: Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cardamon, Clove, Ginger, Turmeric, and Salt. Butter is an option too. We often put Chipotle or a Mexican Seasoning too.
Bake: Bake at about 350 to 450 Degrees Fahrenheit in the US. This approximate so you can calculate approximate internationally. Bake for about 25 minutes.
Fish can be couple with Fries or Hash Browns or any other choice if you like.
The recipe can be changed or adapted, and please always remember to respect The Sabbath and The Holy Spirit.
If you celebrate on Friday to honor the Jews and everything they have contributed, you should look into Challah. Remember to Honor Those That Were Here Before Us; Honor Your Father and Honor Your Mother, Honor Your Elders. They are you, and you are them. Respect them.
Mid-Week Meal
You can make a light meal of chicken or poultry and spice it how you like at home to take a break and Honor God.
Remember we contribute as citizens and are to respect the laws of kindness and church and regulations and state, but we are to take a break from such things also. We all learn and develop and rest is an important part.
